Today’s post is by Kevin O’Connell. Welcome him to the View from the Fringe team. Kevin will be writing about life, all the highs and lows, as a touring pro. He is a professional golfer out of Scottsdale and Dallas/FW. Kevin plays on the Tarheel and Gateway Tours. He is a former NCAA champion and one of the more entrepreneurial golfers I know.
The 2010 PGA Tour was an erratic one. Tiger, the rules debacles, Sunday meltdowns, and even the Ryder Cup outcome left us scratching our heads. But we made it through and I feel like 2011 will be very exciting.
2011 PGA Tour Predictions
- Tiger- No doubt he will be back but his overall dominance is all but gone.
- Young Guns- Watch out for the new crop of PGA Tour players on the rise. Guys like Jamie Lovemark and Kyle Stanley will follow their buddy Rickie Fowler into stardom. These kids can Play!
- Majors- I expect Dustin Johnson and Nick Watney to contend and possibly win a major. Also, I really like Hunter Mahan’s chances, especially at Augusta. These guys are past their 2010 mistakes and they want to prove it.
The game of golf is in a great place right now, don’t blink in 2011 you may miss something special.
What do you think the big stories will be?
