Well its officially Ryder Cup Week. Every two years the USA squares off against Europe in golf’s grandest stage. This year the event is being contested at Valhalla golf club in Louisville, KY. Home of the Louisville Cardinals, the Louisville Slugger, the Kentucky Derby, and KFC (also 1/3 of Bourbon Whiskey is made in Louisville). I am anxious to see how the Americans play Tigerless. The press will have a field day if they win without Mr. Woods.
I thought the PR efforts with Faldo and Azinger have been a nice addition to warm the event closer to the gentlemen’s competition I remember watching as a kid. The events of the past decade have been what I imagine a democrat vs. replublican or Duke vs. Carolina match would be like.
No doubt hometown heroes Kenny Perry and J.B. Holmes will make for an exciting ingredient to the Colonel’s Secret recipe. Follow all of the action at http://www.rydercup.com/2008.
